“Give me 6 hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first 4 sharpening the axe.” - Abraham Lincoln

Any project only ever runs as well as it’s planned as good old Abe knew only too well.

And that’s magnified when it comes to transforming a dated house into a modern home.

There are a lot of individual moving parts like architects, engineers, contractors, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscapers, etc.

And that’s before we even get to the sexy things like your desired finishes, kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, furniture, lighting, etc!

What compounds this is that each of these are related to each other.

The Disastrous Project Domino Effect

If one gets delayed, it has a huge domino effect throughout the rest of the project on the other parts.

And this is why construction projects, more often than not, get time delays.

These time delays also cost you money.

When things need to be urgently addressed, they always cost more than if they are not.

Imagine you’ve locked yourself out of your house and you need a locksmith to come around to sort out your door lock and let you in.

It’s not cheap.

Multiply that by 10x for a construction project.

Delays will mean having trades on site not being able to start, which you need to pay for.

Not to mention individual parts getting delayed in their own right too.

You also pay for that.

It’s Not Just About Time and Money

Let’s not forget the emotional and mental aspects of this too.

I am not going to sugar coat it for you.

Transforming dated homes is stressful.

Anyone who says otherwise has obviously never done one.

So, with all that said, the only questions you have to answer right now are:

  • how stressful do you want your project to be?

  • how much time do you want to lose?

  • and how much extra do you want to spend?

Your Project’s Magic Pill

So, if you want to make your life easier

save yourself time

…and an ever-emptying bank account…

…it is essential that you plan your project as thoroughly as possible.

Now, that’s not to say things won’t go wrong anyway.

I’ve got bad news about that.

Unforeseen problems will happen regardless.

That’s the nature of the beast.

But we can foresee a lot of them.

And we will cut down on a vast amount of them once we help you plan your project.

And that’s exactly what we’re here to do for you.

What to expect:

By booking a Design Consultation, we’ll do the following for you:

  • Discuss your goals for the project and help you get total clarity on your vision for the project (you can’t plan what you can’t see clearly first)…

  • Conceptual design sketches to get your vision out of your mind on to paper so we can further refine it to exactly what you want to live in

  • Identify any potential problems from both an architectural and construction standpoint so you know immediately what to address early on before contractors get involved…
